Exigen localizar a exsíndico de Loma Bonita, Oaxaca; sufrió desaparición forzada hace más de dos años
OAXACA, Oax. (apro).- More than two years after the forced disappearance of the municipal syndic of Loma Bonita, Oaxaca, Víctor Alberto Moreno Tello, the State Attorney General's Office has not located him. This was denounced by Maurilio Santiago Reyes, president of the Center for Human Rights and Assistance to Indigenous Peoples. He indicated that Moreno Tello was disappeared on June 28, 2023, around 11:30 AM in the center of Loma Bonita, located in the Papaloapan River basin region.
Santiago Reyes highlighted that on that day, Moreno Tello was in a tire workshop on Boulevard 16 de Septiembre to replace the brakes of his 2016 Toyota Highlander with license plates YHY-254-A. He was accompanied by Felisa del Carmen Miranda Pacheco, the regidora of public works for Loma Bonita. As they prepared to head to a community for work, a male individual tapped on the window, forced the municipal syndic out of his vehicle, and abducted him.
The regidora immediately notified the then-municipal president, Luciano Sánchez Gama, who did not take any action to locate Moreno Tello. Consequently, the family of the disappeared individual reported the case to the Public Ministry. To date, no positive results have emerged from the investigations.
Santiago Reyes emphasized that this disappearance was carried out by criminal groups in the area with the complicity of the municipal president and state authorities. The family of municipal syndic Víctor Alberto Moreno Tello and the Center for Human Rights and Assistance to Indigenous Peoples are calling for an investigation into the material and intellectual authors of the disappearance, demanding that efforts be made to find Moreno Tello.
