Bloqueo autopista Siglo XXI: Normalista indígena denuncia discriminación en proceso de admisión
Yesenia Lili, an alumna from the Escuela Normal Urbana Federal de Cuautla, led a blockade on the Siglo XXI highway on August 25, protesting against her exclusion from the 2025-2026 Basic Education Admission Process. Despite obtaining the top score in the call for applications, she claims she was discriminated against due to her gender and indigenous community background.
The protest received support from residents of Amilcingo, an indigenous community in Temoac, who held banners accusing state officials, including Governor Margarita González Saravia and the director of the Institute of Basic Education of the State of Morelos (IEBEM), Leandro Vique, of responsibility. The demonstration included tire burning as a form of pressure.
Yesenia revealed that she participated in the state call, competing against 129 applicants, and earned a score of 94.15, placing her first in the ranking. She was entitled to choose between two permanent positions in Cuautla and Zacatepec and compete for 19 temporary spots. On August 18, during the public assignment event held at IEBEM, she selected the position in Cuautla, signed the assignment act, and submitted all necessary documentation.
However, two days later, she was informally notified that her ranking had been "challenged" and that she was disqualified from the process without any formal documentation explaining the decision. In response to the lack of an official answer, she filed a complaint with the Morelos State Human Rights Commission and initiated legal actions, directly holding the IEBEM director responsible and seeking intervention from the state governor.
