Hieren a dos policías tras la ejecución de “El Gárgola” en Uruapan

MORELIA, Mich. (apro).- Following the execution of "El Gárgola," identified as one of the main sources of violence in Uruapan, two municipal police officers were injured during the pursuit of the alleged assailants, reported Uruapan's mayor, Carlos Alberto Manzo Rodríguez. In a statement published on his social media account, the mayor noted that the events transpired on the night of Tuesday, the 30th, in the 28 de Octubre neighborhood. Subsequently, the municipal police identified a vehicle in motion occupied by several armed criminals believed to be the possible attackers of "El Gárgola." This led to a pursuit through several streets of Uruapan, culminating in the Barrio de El Vergel.
During the pursuit, the armed individuals opened fire on the municipal police, who returned fire against the occupants of a gray Egge truck they were traveling in. "This confrontation resulted in two police officers being injured, who are now out of danger; the criminals managed to escape but were also reported to be wounded," indicated Manzo Rodríguez.
The mayor further noted that intelligence reports from the Secretary of Public Security classified "El Gárgola" as a major instigator of violence within Uruapan, and that information received from citizens indicated his involvement in illicit activities such as executions, vehicle theft, extortion, and drug dealing, among other crimes.
He stated that the investigation into these events falls under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General's Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE) to identify and punish those responsible according to the law. Finally, Manzo remarked that "all these violent events occurring throughout the country should serve as a reflection for everyone: that those who walk down the wrong path will ultimately meet a very bad end."
